It's spring, y'all. I've been admiring all of the flowers blooming nearby. Daffodils, crocuses, and tulips in Mom's garden beds.
Dandelions, coltsfoot, lily of the valley, Dutchman's britches, trilliums, trout lily, and others frequent places that I walk through often.
Today's piece of writing is just a little snippet, but I think that you will like the personalities that I've given each kind of flower contained within.
I've been saving this piece of writing to share with you in the spring, which, as I realized a couple of days ago, is definitely here. I figured it was high time to share Garden Sketch with you. Hope you like it!
Garden Sketch

The shy purple crocuses peek out of the soil, waving to their neighbours, the saucy yellow daffodils.
Above the retiring crocuses grows the four-petaled, flowering forsythia.
"Hello, sister Crocuses," the forsythia cries, "how does Spring treat you?"
"Very well," comes the soft reply.
"Spring treats us fine," the haughty daffies say, tossing their magnificent heads, convinced that not even the sun is a handsomer yellow than they.
"Cheer!" calls a redwing, flying in for a quick rest on one of the forsythia's branches.
"Madame Rose keeps me busy. 'Go get some old lily leaves. Now get some marsh grass. Now get a bit of that over there!' On and on she goes. All I have time to say is, 'Yes, m'dear.'"
"You shouldn't let her boss you so," the indignant daffies cry.
"Truly, I don't mind," Mr. Redwing replies.
The daffies sniff.
"If one is dear to you, tisn't a bit o' trouble to help them," the lavender murmurs, so quiet that only the ants can hear.
"'Tis true," they reply to the lavender, just as quietly.
"I must be off," declares Mr. Redwing, done resting. "Rose is expecting me."
"Godspeed," whispers the lavender.
"Harrumph!" the daffies proclaim.
"Say hi to Rose for me," the forsythia admonishes cheerfully.
"Come again," the crocuses say, waving their shy little heads.
